Room Parents Needed

Hello Voyager Family!

The PTO is in search of one room parent for each classroom! As room parent you will assist the teacher with planning parties and communicating classroom needs with other parents! You will also be a part of helping plan and coordinate Teacher Appreciation Week. You should be able to attend PTO meetings (held monthly, on the first Tuesday). This will open up a line of communication between the PTO and each classroom, which will help the PTO to be aware of classroom needs and desires, as well as allow you to be connected and informed about upcoming events and plans.

What might this look like? * You setup a sign up genius to recruit volunteers and party favors for a Halloween or Valentine’s party. (You are not responsible for “hosting” every party, feel free to delegate!) * One day in the Spring your child’s teacher mentions there are no good crayons, 3 pencils and one beat up box of tissues for the entire classroom. You send out an email to the other class parents and let them know and soon crayons, pencils and tissues have been replenished, and the teacher didn’t have to do a thing. * A fun way to get involved in your child’s classroom, and quickly earn your official parent name. Mine is “Benjamin’s Mom”. It’s nice to meet you! 😀

What doesn’t this look like? * It’s not a Pinterest party, an episode of Nailed It, or a competition. * It’s not a huge time commitment. (It really isn’t!)

I will be providing an info packet to each room parent, and I will be available if you have any questions or problems!
